Othala otherwise known as ᛟ is a rune which symbolizes heritage; inheritance, and inherited estate. This sculpture embodies a rediscovery of my heritage, my home, my past. It captures a specific time in my life where I felt belonging and grounded in a place where I once stood and grew as a child.
Uruz (ᚢ) can identify as raw strength as well as untamed potential. My experience since facing the diagnosis of Endometriosis has been difficult to say the least. This series of sculptures help me emphasize the physical turmoil I’ve come to face as well as express what my body feels and looks like internally.
