'Kabeela' series is named after a women’s charity based in Burkina Faso, West Africa. This is where basket pine weaving, and coil bulding through clay was skillfully crafted by many women to support, sell and fundraise money for their community. As one collection, the scale of each vessel represents growth, whilst the palette of each glaze references pagne-style fashion textiles.

‘Untitled’: With ideas of gender fluidity in mind, I intuitively develop my work speaking of my interest in queer and feminist theory. Writers such as Laura Mulvey and Judith Butler inspire me in the way of expressing my identity alongside questioning social restrictions, idealisms and sexual identity. I attempt to capture an exploration of gender fluidity, not referencing either sex or gender with sexual organs, but to highlight the intensity of physical change and exploration into our own identities.
